The Black Student Union is one of the many clubs at McKinley. Rachel reveals that she is a part of it, not just because one of her fathers, LeRoy, is black, but because she wished to give the illusion of her involvement in the school's extracurricular activities in the hopes of getting into as many Thunderclap Yearbook pictures as possible. She reveals this in Mattress, the twelfth episode of Season One. Will encouraged the New Directions to get a picture for the yearbook.
