Brody Weston is a recurring character on Glee. He is a Junior at NYADA and is Rachel's former love interest. He makes his first appearance in The New Rachel, the first episode of Season Four. He formally lived in Kurt and Rachel's apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn until Guilty Pleasures, the seventeenth episode of Season Four, where he moves out by his choice. He is a T.A. for Cassandra July's Dance 101 classes at NYADA, speculated to be a drug-dealer but then revealed to be a prostitute in Feud, the sixteenth episode of Season Four.

Brody Weston is portrayed by singer, songwriter, and Australian actor Dean Geyer.

Biography

Season Four

The New Rachel

Brody Weston makes his first appearance in the co-ed bathroom at NYADA, where he first meets Rachel. They both state that they like to use the restroom late at night for their moisturizing routines. He instantly becomes friends with her. He later accompanies her in NYADA's Round Room, where Carmen Tibideaux evaluates the new students and kicks out the students who are not up to par, which Brody refers to as the "Freshman Reaping." When Carmen calls Rachel up, she sings New York State of Mind. When she finishes, Brody solely gives Rachel a standing ovation, which seems to bother Carmen. However, Carmen tells Rachel that her performance was "nice". Later in the episode, Brody finds Rachel in Central Park and sees her skimming through her phone's pictures of Finn. He asks Rachel if Finn is her boyfriend, to which she defensively replies that he is. Rachel then states that just because Finn hasn't talked to her in two months, that she shouldn't stop calling him her boyfriend, to which Brody agrees in her favor. They then walk through the park holding hands.

Britney 2.0

Brody is seen working out at the park, doing crunches on a bench. Rachel interrupts his workout, though he greets her excitedly and says he misses seeing her in the showers. She then tells him that Cassie thinks she "has no sex appeal" to which he replies that he thinks she is "crazy sexy." She then asks Brody to dance with her to prove to Cassie that she can be sexy, which he agrees to do, despite the fact that Cassie doesn't normally allow upperclassmen to dance with freshman. He dances with Rachel as she performs Oops!... I Did It Again. Although Cassie is pleased with Brody's dancing, she is still not pleased with Rachel. Brody tries to defend Rachel by calling her "incredible" but Cassie still thinks Rachel is just "okay." This causes Rachel to fire back. Brody warns her not to, but she does it anyway, which gets her kicked out of class.

Later in the episode, Brody comes to Rachel and Kurt's apartment, where he is greeted by Kurt. Kurt then leaves them alone to be together, implying that he wants Rachel to date him. Brody then states that he rode on a train for forty-five minutes just to find Rachel at her apartment to give her an orchid. He then states that he really liked dancing with her in Cassie's class and that he thinks she's "really sexy." He leans in to kiss her, but she stops him because of Finn. He then promises to respect her boundaries, but also wants her to know that whenever they are together, he imagines himself kissing her. In the Everytime montage, he is seen outside Rachel's dance class, smiling with disappointment in his eyes as he watches her dance.

Makeover

Brody walks into the room where Rachel is practicing. He then tells her that she looks "incredible." He then states that a person never usually settles in to New York until they have had their first "Makeover" and that his took six months. Rachel then compliments him and says that he could never need one, as pretty much every girl in the school wants him. Brody then states that he used to be skinny when he lived in Montana, but that his life changed when a group of friends introduced him to a waxing and going to the gym. They then sing A Change Would Do You Good in the dance studio, and around New York. Afterwards, Rachel offers to cook him dinner the following night. The next night, Rachel attempts to cook dinner, but it catches on fire. She puts out the fire just as Brody arrives at her apartment. She then orders pizza instead, ashamed of the fact that she burned dinner. However, Brody tells her that he appreciates the effort anyway and that no one had ever attempted to cook for him before. Rachel then tells him that she cooked for him because she wanted to try something new. They then share stories about their childhood. Brody shares that he was obsessed with Ace Of Base as a child. Rachel jokingly says that she thought he was straight, but he claims that he liked Ace Of Base because they were "hot girls playing their own instruments." Rachel then shares a story about a boy named Tony, who had a crush on her when she was eight years old, who had written her a love letter, which she gave back to him after correcting all the spelling/grammar errors. She then states that she's never told anyone, not even Finn. Brody then states that he is "hands off" and that they are just friends. However, they kiss immediately afterwards. They are soon interrupted by a knock at the door. Rachel thinks it's Kurt, who keeps forgetting his keys. However, it is not Kurt at the door; it is Finn. Finn smiles at Rachel, until he sees Brody stand up, as well as Rachel's utterly shocked and confused face.

The Break Up

Brody is seen at the bar 'Callbacks' and soon greets Finn and Rachel.

They converse and Finn suggests (with anger in his voice) Rachel and Brody should sing the song Give Your Heart a Break to Rachel's polite discomfort. However Brody suggests what a good idea it is accepting the challenge. They sing the song, and share multiple moments in the song. Later, Finn asks Rachel if anything is going on with Brody - she claims they are just friends. However, she later confesses to kissing Brody in 'Makeover'.

Glease

Cassie brings in some of the NYADA upperclassmen to help the freshman "up their game." Brody walks over to Rachel and helps her. While they are walking around the room, Rachel tells him that she has her first off-broadway play audition. She then asks him to help her, which he agrees to do. Meanwhile, Cassie is eavesdropping on their conversation, who later tells Rachel that the man she is auditioning for will "eat [her] alive." However, Rachel encourages Cassie to audition with her to "get back in the game." This causes Cassie to tell everyone to take a five minute break. Cassie then offers Brody a TA job, which he accepts.

Later in the episode, Brody and Cassie are seen dancing together while she sings There Are Worse Things I Could Do with Santana and Wade. When the song ends, Brody and Cassie share a kiss. After the play, Rachel calls Brody. However, Cassie answers the phone and tells her that she slept with Brody. Cassie then proceeds to insult Rachel, who then hangs up the phone, devastated.

Thanksgiving

Brody walks into Cassandra July's dance class, announcing that she told him that she "can't stand to be in the same room as [their] mediocrity again" but that she appeared to be hung-over when she told him this. He then walks over to Rachel, who is noticeably ignoring him out of anger. He asks her if there is a problem. At first she claims that it's because she prefers to be taught by a professional instead of a TA. However, she then admits that she is angry at him for sleeping with Cassie. Brody then tells her that he slept with Cassie because she blew him off to see Finn. He then tells her not to be "one of those crazy girls who expects everyone to read her mind" to which she replies that he doesn't have to be a mind reader to know that Cassie is her "mortal enemy." Brody then proceeds to tell her that because they are friends and he doesn't want to hurt her, that he wouldn't do it again. He then asks her what she is doing for Thanksgiving, to which she replies that she is having a "Private Orphan Thanksgiving." Brody then offers to cook for her, which she accepts.

Later in the episode, Brody is seen cooking at Rachel and Kurt's apartment. Kurt and Brody have a small debate on whether or not the turkey they are cooking should go into a bag. He then asks Rachel to help butter up the turkey, which she does despite her vegetarian diet. She then apologizes to the uncooked turkey for helping to season him. Brody helps her season the turkey in a very sexual way to "show him that [she loves] him." Later in the episode, Rachel and Kurt's "Orphan Thanksgiving" turns into a large party involving people from Vogue.com who were invited by Isabelle Wright. When Isabelle walks in, the entire room, aside from Brody, starts singing Let's Have A Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time. After the first chorus, Brody interrupts the song, asking Kurt what a "Kiki" is. Kurt and the rest of the room explain it to him in song.

Swan Song

In Swan Song, Brody is seen standing on the sidestage stairs giving Rachel

a pep-talk before she goes on-stage at the NYADA Winter Showcase. After he gives Rachel the pep-talk, he holds her hand and tells her that she will be great. He then steps up the stairs past Rachel to leave but she stops him and kisses him. He then asks her what the kiss was for and she explains that she is just going to do things like she's never going to get another chance again. Kurt then interrupts and tells Rachel that she is up next. Brody and Kurt are then seen going into the Round-Room to watch the Showcase. Throughout the two of Rachel's songs, the camera goes to Brody many times and shows him smiling at her while she is singing. After her two songs, she hugs Kurt then Brody. Later on in the episode Kurt is asked to perform in the Showcase. While he is singing Being Alive, when he get's to the lyrics: "somebody hold me too close" the camera goes off of Kurt and onto Brody and Rachel who look at each other and then Brody takes Rachel's hand and holds it for the rest of the song.

Sadie Hawkins

In Sadie Hawkins, Rachel squeals and spills to Kurt about how Brody took her out for dinner and decided to drop her home. After that event, Rachel decides to invite Brody over. When Kurt and Rachel stroll down New York City, Kurt discusses about how he has an eye on someone, and Rachel said that if he does, he and her can do double dates with his person of interest and Brody. She then walks across the street to hug Brody and together they go to the library. Towards the ending of the episode, Rachel can be seen playing with her food then she grabs the food and heads towards the trash can when the doorbell rings. Brody is at the front door, and Rachel is ticked off due to him being really late and the food is cold. He said that the train was late, and she insisted that he could've gone earlier to his surprise. He explains he was cold, but Rachel asks, "Was that meant to make me feel sorry for you?" But he says no. And he adds that if that was the last day of his life, he would wait forever till that train came just to see her which lifts her mood. Rachel then says she could just heat up the food in the microwave. Brody explains that there's plenty of time to eat, but he wants to dance. She says there isn't any music on, but he tells her to imagine it. Although there is no music, in McKinley, Ryder sings I Only Have Eyes For You which has intercuting scenes of Brody and Rachel dancing at her and Kurt's apartment. When the music finishes, Brody says he wants to stay closer to Rachel, but she asks, "Why don't you just move in?"

Naked

In the episode, Naked, it seems Brody has moved in to Rachel and Kurt's apartment. He is first seen walking to the dining table naked and having a seat. Kurt doesn't notice until he looks up and scolds Rachel because her boyfriend's "bare ass" is sitting on his flea market vintage chair. Rachel then announces her role in a student film involving a topless scene to which Kurt opposes. He tells Brody that she is a serious actress, but Brody supports Rachel, saying that if she wants to win an Oscar, she has to expose herself.

Diva

Brody tells Rachel what the Midnight Madness is: a challenge to the death with one song that will give eternal glory to the winner and make the loser humbled for life. Later, Brody presents the Midnight Madness and opens the scene where Rachel and Kurt compete against each other with the song Bring Him Home, from the musical Les Miserables. As per protocol, people who attended the performances line up on the side of their favorite, and Rachel's followers pick Kurt's side resulting in a close run win for Kurt.

I Do

Rachel returns home to find her apartment decorated with hearts and flowers by Brody. Neither of them are entirely honest with the other about how they spent Valentine's Day. When Brody tells Rachel that he spent the day at home watching weight-lifting videos, there is a flashback of him exiting a hotel room quickly and secretly, looking at a bundle of money suggesting he is prostituting himself.

Girls (and Boys) on Film

Brody doesn't appear on this episode but is mentioned several times by Santana where she expresses her misgivings about "plastic" Brody, revealing that she found a large stash of cash and a pager among his belongings. Santana starts to accuse Brody as an drug dealer and Rachel defends him and is irritated. Also Brody's voice is heard when he called Rachel on the phone

Feud

Brody first appears in a restaurant and a man talks with him and Brody says that is not his thing and that he just really needs the money for college. Later, he sings How to Be a Heartbreaker while heading towards a woman sitting at a table. He begins to dance with her as he sings, looking at her intimately. Everyone in the area begins to dance in pairs, singing back-up for Brody. He pauses at the end of the chorus, as the music stops with him whispering, after a large sigh, "At least I think I do", and the music continues as the partners dance away. Brody is pushed into the elevator by the mystery woman, as if they are about to kiss. Brody and the woman proceed to dance intimately in the elevator. They soon reach their destiny, and all the pairs dancing along with Brody and the woman dance until they reach their personal rooms. Closing the blinds, they take off their clothes and Brody pushes the woman on the bed and reminds her that he only takes money, indicating they are going to have sex and that he is a gigolo. Later at Kurt and Rachel's apartment, he is seen taking a shower while singing Closer. Santana takes this chance to steal his pager. As Brody teaches a class as the T.A., in Dance 101 at NYADA, Santana enters the room. Brody sees her and tells the girls off, but Santana quickly shouts an offensive remark, to Brody's surprise. Santana warns Brody that she is a hardcore friend of Rachel and Kurt and therefore, Brody should move out that night because she knows who he is. She then proceeds to perform Cold Hearted. As the performance progresses, Santana sings the lyrics directly at Brody who sits down, watching her. Santana is able to pull off an impressive performance, but Brody isn't impressed at all, being told to 'pack his bags' as Santana leaves. He calls Rachel and tells her what happen at NYADA (off-screen). On an escort call, Brody's shocked to discover that his latest client is actually Santana, who leaves him in the hotel room to be confronted by Finn. Finn demands that Brody disappear from Rachel's life immediately, but Brody claims that he loves her. Finn counters that Rachel doesn't even know who Brody is - yet. The confrontation gets physical, and they trash the hotel room as they fight, with Finn landing the decisive blow and warning Brody to "stay away from his future wife."

Guilty Pleasures

Brody moves out of the Bushwick apartment, giving Rachel no specific explanation and telling her that they can still be friends. Later, Brody and Rachel finally reveal to each other their back stories (Brody is a male prostitute and Rachel slept with Finn and was using Brody as the rebound), and so they finally admit that their relationship is over. They then proceed to sing Creep. Rachel walks out of the NYADA dance room, crying as Brody sings. In the hallway, he watches her walk and then chases her. There are flashes of Rachel holding her legs as she sings, watching the class perform ballet, then getting up, walking amidst them with determined eyes. Brody and Rachel are then seen alone in separate rooms, singing along. At the New York apartment, Brody is singing the song while Rachel sleeps and Rachel sings as he sleeps, memories of their times together. The last scene in the apartment room shows Rachel while Brody fades away. Towards the end of the song, Brody and Rachel are in the NYADA auditorium, and together they finish off the duet with microphone stands and wearing formal clothes. The lights on the stage go off as Rachel and Brody look at each other, hurt.

Wonder-ful

When Rachel asks Cassandra if the whole Brody thing is part of Cassandra's relentless actions after seeing the potential in Rachel, Cassandra says that incidence was because of Brody's abs. Rachel says, "but yours are so much better."

Rachel Berry

At the beginning of Season Four (The New Rachel) Rachel and Brody meet in the NYADA bathrooms. Rachel hears Brody sing Sister Christian in the showers as she listens intently. He comes out of the shower naked which distracts her and they both have a small conversation.

Rachel and Brody both have many things in common. It seems Rachel and Brody are both students at NYADA, both majoring in student theatre and there are many other points. Brody is a junior while Rachel is a freshman and Brody has been on broadway, which surprises Rachel. Later in the episode, Rachel is asked to perform in front of the class and in front of Carmen Tibideaux. Brody watches her intently as she sings New York State of Mind and is the only one to applaud her when she finishes. In New York, Rachel scrolls through her photos and is reminded of Finn. Brody questions if that's her boyfriend and she talks about Finn. Brody then takes her phone and takes a picture of the both of them, saying that she should remember this day when he told her to not dwell in the past and instead realise that she is the best of the best and she came to New York because she has changed into a new and improved girl. He offers to walk with her their classes back at NYADA. In Britney 2.0, Brody begins to loosen up to Rachel. Dancing with her in Oops!... I Did It Again, calling her sexy and bringing her orchards at her apartment. He is about to kiss her before she stops him and Brody knows that Rachel is not over Finn and he should respect her boundaries instead of going ahead. He reminds Rachel that even though he fails now, everytime they do something, sing something or talk together, he's thinking of kissing her.

Makeover reveals that Brody and Rachel have become a lot closer. During their duet A Change Would Do You Good, Rachel and Brody are seen exploring New York together along with dancing in the studio. Brody and Rachel take pictures using their phones and Brody also buys Rachel some ice-cream. Rachel cooks Brody dinner the next evening and the two share an intimate moment towards the end of the episode after reflecting on their childhood, changes and secrets.

In The Break-Up, Finn and Rachel are feeling awkward after Finn caught Rachel with Brody. However, Rachel insists that they are just friends. Later, when Rachel and Finn double dates with Kurt and Blaine at the karaoke bar, Callbacks, Brody runs into the foursome, providing an awkward situation. Finn then insists that Rachel and Brody sing a duet together on the karaoke, in which they are hesitant but they agree. They sing a pleasant rendition of Demi Lovato's Give Your Heart A Break, which is well received by the patrons.

After the date, Rachel admits that she and Brody may be something more than just friends which upsets Finn leading them to sing Don't Speak.

In Glease, Brody and other upperclassmen/juniors are permitted to enter Cassandra's freshmen class so the upperclassmen can help the freshmen with dancing. Rachel and Brody meet and are happy. Cassandra overhears Rachel's conversation with Brody about audition for an off-Broadway audition of The Glass Menagerie and Cassandra is filled with jealousy. She asks Brody to help with her audition but at this point, Cassandra says Rachel doesn't have enough wounds for the audition. Rachel says she does. After going to McKinley's Grease School Production, Rachel calls Brody after she fantasises her and Finn singing You're The One That I Want. Instead, Cassandra picks up and tells Rachel of her and Brody's affair and that Brody is at Rachel's house, leaving Rachel distraught.

In Thanksgiving, Brody and Rachel discuss their situation the adult way and Rachel soons forgives him. Brody helps Rachel and Kurt with their Thanksgiving dinner They are seen dancing together in the performance, Let's Have A Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time.

During the episode, Swan Song, Rachel prepares for her winter showcase, but before she takes to the stage, she kisses Brody, saying that she's decided to do things when she has the chance and opportunity. They even hold hands during Kurt's re-audition at the showcase.

In Naked, Brody was seen casually walking around topless in Rachel and Kurt's apartment as he has moved in. He claims that it was his way to support Rachel about her decision of doing a topless scene.

In Diva, Because of Rachel's insufferable attitude since the Winter Showcase, Kurt has decided to knock Rachel down a peg by challenging her to a diva off at an event titled 'Midnight Madness'. Rachel asks Brody what a Midnight Madness is and he explains that it is basically NYADA's fight club but with singing instead of punching. When they later perform Bring Him Home, Brody is seen smiling at both of their performances, not showing any biased favor towards his girlfriend. Even when Kurt is voted the winner, he remains impartial.

In I Do, Brody does not come to Lima for Will's wedding, however, he is mentioned by Rachel several times during her meeting with Finn. She mentions that Brody felt weird about going to a stranger's wedding.

Once Rachel comes home, Brody has decorated the entire house for Valentine's Day. They share a few kisses and Brody notices that she is kissing differently and asks if Rachel has seen Finn. Rachel denies anything has happened between the two. When Rachel asks if Brody has done anything interesting, he denies and says he's been at home watching work-out videos, but a cutaway scene showing Brody leaving a hotel with money, obviously implying he has been prostituting himself. At the end of the episode during Anything Could Happen, Brody and Rachel are seen sleeping in the same bed. When, Rachel gets up to got to the bathroom to take a pregnancy test.

In Guilty Pleasures, Rachel finally learned that Brody is a gigolo. Rachel is upset about Brody lying to her. Brody tells Rachel that she lied too, referring to her still loving Finn. He told Rachel he knew what happened in the wedding. When Rachel asked if Santana told him about it, he said that no one had to tell him about it. He apologized for lying to Rachel and told her he meant everything else that he said to her. Rachel admitted she hasn't been completely honest to him and that part of her just wanted to make Finn jealous As a result they broke up. Then, they both sang Creep while crying.

Cassandra July
