A "mash-up" is a term used to define a song or composition created by mixing 2 different songs. They are defined by Will Schuester in the episode Vitamin D as "when you take two songs and mash them together to make an even richer explosion of musical expression."

Glee has featured 43 mash-ups to date. They have had one episode in both Seasons 1 and 3 dedicated entirely to mash-ups (Vitamin D and Mash Off.)

Rumor Has It/Someone Like You featured in Season 3's Mash Off episode is the highest-ranking mash-up Glee has ever covered, garnering a place in the Top 10 iTunes download list and a thumbs up by Adele, the original singer of both of the songs.
