Cry by Kelly Clarkson is featured in Choke, the eighteenth episode of Season Three. It is sung by Rachel.

This song is the closing number of the episode. She sings it after blowing her NYADA audition by choking on her rendition of Don't Rain On My Parade.

During the performance, Rachel is seen walking through the hallways as it cuts to Finn comforting a crying Rachel in her bedroom and cuts back to her in the auditorium. Puck is also seen receiving his test back, where he fails the class, making him unable to graduate.

Just before the song, Rachel hugs Kurt and is seen wearing a dark nail polish. But in the auditorium, while performing on the stage, her nails are seen to have plain nail polish instead.
