Debra Monk (born February 27, 1949) is an American actress, singer, and writer who has won a Tony Award for her performance in Redwood Curtain on Broadway. She played Mrs. Schuester in the FOX TV show Glee. She made her one episode debut in Acafellas. She was nominated for a Tony in Curtains and Steel Pier. She received a Drama Desk Award for Oil City Symphony and an Obie Award for The Time of the Cuckoo.
Debra Monk's hometown is Middletown, Ohio. She was voted "best personality" by her peers in the graduating class at the Wheaton High School located at Silver Spring, Maryland. Debra Monk graduated in 1973 from Frostburg State University.
