Dr. Shane is a character introduced in Born This Way, and has not appeared since then. She is Emma's therapist for her obsessive-compulsive disorder.
She is portrayed by Kathleen Quinlan.
She is seen in her office where Emma is scrubbing a chair. Emma then asks how much time of their session they have left to which she says none - Emma has been scrubbing the chair for almost the entire session. She tells her that it's clear she has OCD and that there is a stigma attached to mental disease. However, she says to not be ashamed of her illness, Dr. Shane herself having postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter and revealing it only got better once she accepted psychiatric help. She prescribes Emma medication for her OCD and sets up another appointment to follow.
