Funny Girl from Funny Girl is featured in Theatricality, the twentieth episode of Season One. It is sung by Shelby.
Shelby sings this to inspire Vocal Adrenaline to be more theatrical, but Rachel, Quinn, and Mercedes are spying on them, so they see it as well. As Shelby sings the song, Rachel starts to remember her mom's voice singing on the tape and realizes that Shelby is, indeed, her mother. After the song, Rachel approaches Shelby, despite Quinn and Mercedes' pleas for her to come back before she gets caught. Rachel then reveals to Shelby that she is her daughter, in front of everyone.
Did you hear that?
Yeah, the guy said, honey,
You're a funny girl
That's me, I just keep them
Doubled in half
And though I may be all wrong for the guy
I'm good for a laugh
I guess it's not funny
Life is far from sunny
When the laugh is over
And the jokes on you
A girl ought to have a sense of humor
That's one thing you really need for sure
When you're a funny girl
The fellow said a funny girl
Funny, how it ain't so funny
- This is Shelby's first and only solo on Glee.
