John Richard Schneider, born April 8, 1960[1], is an American actor and singer. He is known for his roles on The Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville, The Haves and the Have Nots, and he guest starred on Glee.
Personal life[]
Schneider was born in Mount Kisco, NY to John and Shirley Schneider.[1] He has two brothers, Mark and Bob.
He married Tawny Little in July 1983 but divorced in 1986. He married Elvira "Elly" Castle in July 1993 but Castle would file for divorce in 2014, it would be finalized in 2019.[1][2][3][4] The couple have three children, Leah, Chasen and Karis.[2]
He married girlfriend Alicia Allain in July 2019 amid his ongoing divorce with Castle and "before god". The marriage would be finalized that September.[5][6]
Career[]
Schneider made his uncredited film debut in Smokey and the Bandit in 1977 and his television debut in 1979 on The Dukes of Hazzard as a main character. The Dukes of Hazzard would last for six years till 1985 and he would be in 128 episodes; he would also voice the role on The Dukes in 1983.
He would have a recurring role on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman for sixteen episodes between 1993 and 1998, Heaven Help Us for ten episodes in 1994, and voiced a role on The Mummy: Secrets of the Medjai for twenty-five in between 2001 and 2003. Schneider also had a recurring role on Smallville for 103 episodes between 2001 and 2011, three episodes between 2010 and 2011 on Hot in Cleveland, Hero Factory for eight episodes between 2010 and 2013, and The Have and the Have Nots for fifty-six epsiodes between 2013 and 2014.
He also appeared on The Secret Life of the American Teenager between 2008 and 2009 for eighteen episodes, 902010 for five episodes in 2009, Desperate Housewives for four episodes between 2009 and 2010, and Glee on 2011.
Schneider also had ten albums: "Now or Never" and "White Christmas" in 1981, "Quiet Man" in 1982, "If You Believe" in 1983, "Too Good to Stop Now" in 1984, "Tryin' To Outrun the Wind" and "A Memory Like You" in 1985, "Take The Long Way Home" and "Social Amnesia" (with Impossible Theatre) in 1986, "You Ain't Seen The Last of Me" in 1987.
