They sing the song at Jean's funeral as a dedication to her favorite film, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory . Sue is touched by this performance and thanks the glee club after. During the performance, the New Directions, Will and particularly Sue are teary-eyed as they send Jean away with the song.
