Telly Leung, born January 3, 1980, is an American actor and singer. He is known for his recurring role on Glee and his Broadway roles.
Personal Life[]
Leung was born and raised in New York City.[1] He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1998, and attended Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama.[1] Leung is openly gay. He got married to his partner James Babcock on December 12th, 2016, but only made it public on January 20th, 2017 in protest of Donald Trump's inaugoration as president.
Career[]
Leung made his Broadway debut, "Flower Drum Song", in 2002[2], in an revival of "Pacific Overtures" in 2005, originated the role of Boq in the Chicago company of "Wicked,"[2] and gained a place in the Broadway company of "RENT."[1] He had a recurring role on Glee for a year, and returned Broadway to the revival of "Godspell" in 2011.[2] Leung made his film debut in "RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway”[1], and was in Hollywood Bowl’s production of "RENT" in 2010.[1] He was casted in the Broadway show "Allegiance" in 2012, and it will make its debut in the spring of 2014.[1]
He first solo album, "I'll Cover You", was released in December 2012.[3]
