|The Music of the Night|
|By:||Cast of The Phantom of the Opera|
|Sung by:||Kurt Hummel|
|Place:||The April Rhodes Civic Pavilion|
The Music of the Night from The Phantom of the Opera is featured in Choke, the eighteenth episode of Season Three. It is sung by Kurt.
He practices this song for his NYADA audition, while the stage is filled with candles and Tina acts as Christine. During the song, Artie comes through with a fog machine for ambiance. Blaine praises the performance although Kurt is still unsure.
Later, he plans to perform it as his audition piece at Rachel's insistence, but he decides to perform Not the Boy Next Door to take a risk instead of going with the easier choice. Carmen was pleased with his quick change and his choice of taking a risk.
Let your mind start a journey through a strange, new world!
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before!
Let your soul
Take you where you long to be!
Let the dream begin,
Let your darker side give in to the power of
The music that I write
Help me make the music of the night
- During this performance, Tina is wearing the same dress that she wore during the You and I/You and I performance in Mash Off and also in The Choir Room in Yes/No.
- Although it was recorded in the studio, this song was unreleased for unknown reasons.
- Tina suddenly stands on her feet when she was sitting (after Kurt sings "The music that I write").
