Tongue Tied by GROUPLOVE is featured in Nationals, the twenty-first episode of Season Three . It is sung by the New Directions as they triumphantly return to McKinley following their win at Nationals. The school welcomes them with open arms as they have some fun celebrating their triumphant win. Like Smile in the episode Mattress, this song is done in the background to a montage.

Reception

Of the seven songs, the one that received the fewest was "Tongue Tied", which Strecker described as "montage music" and graded a "B". As Chaney noted, it "wasn't a number so much as a musical celebration of New Directions' championship status", but it nevertheless received an "A−" grade from her and from Slezak. Rolling Stone's Erica Futterman called it a "spirited take on Grouplove". Source

Trivia

The third time that a song has been featured in the background of a clip rather than showing the singer(s) singing the song. The first time was Don't Make Me Over in Hairography [although just the instrumental] and the second was Smile in Mattress.
The second time Brittany and Santana have kissed during a musical number.
