Glee - A Long Journey, Chapter 1Edit
Mr. Schuester knew that a new year marks the end of old times - most of the Glee Club members from last year has already grown up, out there to stand by themselves in the world. He didn't want to see them leave but he knew they have a brighter future out there.
But a new year also marks the beginning of some thing new as well; Mr. Schue that to compete in the competition season this year, he had to have at least twelve people or else Principle Figgins would try and take it down again. Despite the constant hatred directed the Glee Club during the previous years, Mr. Schue knew that one day he could make it shine again, like it did during the time when he was in high school.
He marched through the hallway, feeling confident as he posted the registration list because he knew that this year is definitely the start of something new.

Miranda carefully observed the empty registration list to join the Glee Club, thumbing the pen nervously, wondering if she should join. Despite her great passion for singing, she has always the fear of talking to almost anyone - she honestly doubt if she could even stand on her feet if she had to sing in front of people.
But her mother has been stern about her finding 'somewhere to belong' but the main problem is that she loves where she belongs - alone.
She sighed, knowing she can't disobey her mother and, after hesitating for a moment, she scrawled her name on the list.
"Hey, loser!" a voice called and a jock stormed up to her and Miranda made a mistake of turning around and something cold and wet splashed hard against her face. Her eyes were burning, and tears began to trail down her cheeks. Although this wasn't the first time she has been treated this way, she was really expecting all of it to change when she got to high school. Not being able to take it anymore, she broke down sobbing.
"Are you okay?" Miranda heard and before she knew it, a girl with beautiful blonde hair tied in a ponytail, dressed in a Cheerios uniform was by her side, patting her back to comfort her. The girl looked behind her, scowling at the jock. "That was mean, Pancho!" she yelled.
The jock, who Miranda recognized as Pancho Mendez, simply shrugged and left with all his other friends. "T-thank you," Miranda said nervously to the cheerleader.
The cheerleader smiled. "No problem," she said, standing up and reaching out her hand to Miranda. Miranda hesitated for a moment before grabbing her hand to stand. The cheerleader's blue eyes was filled with joy and innocence that Miranda couldn't help but smile. "I'm Alexis - Alexis Sofa Jackson."
"M-Miranda... Miranda Rose," Miranda stuttered, shivering as she felt the slushie trailing down her stomach. "Thanks for helping m-me..."
Alexis smiled again before turning to sign her name at the Glee Club registration list. "Wait," Miranda said, "you're joining the Glee Club?"
Alexis laughed. "Of course - its fun! I'm guessing you thought I wouldn't join because I'm cheerleader, didn't you?" she asked.
Miranda bit her lip. "Umm... yeah..."
Alexis laughed again and a couple of cheerleaders scoffed, grabbing Alexis to pull her away from the 'loser'. Alexis frowned and mouthed a "Good luck in auditions!" to Miranda. Miranda nodded, turning around to walk away, receiving yet another slushie thrown to her face.

Immediately upon seeing the registration list for the Glee Club, Julianna wanted to be the lead singer but of course, getting the role will be easy as ABC. She signed her name onto the paper, scowling at the sight of Miranda Rose's name on the paper, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
Julianna knew that one day, she'll be a superstar but she heard Miranda's voice before and she had to admit that her voice was beautiful, like an angel. She feared that Miranda would get the lead instead of her.
She smiled proudly at the sight af her elegantly written name on the registration list before turning around and she scowled at the sight of two boys, who she recognized as Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson, holding hands, merely inches away from each other and Julianna found it disgusting. Kurt seemed to be wishing Blaine good luck for his senior year and Blaine was looking at him with eyes filled with love and passion, which made Julianna want to barf.
Quickly, she walked pass them, muttering the word 'fag', not being able to notice that Kurt and Blaine did hear what she said.

Mr. Schue came later in the day to check out the registration list, happy to know that at least a few people signed. Slowly, he observed the list to check out the people who registered.

So here Mr. Schue was, with the old Glee Club members - Blaine, Artie, Tina, Rory, Sugar and Brittany - to see if these people were good enough singers to get into the Glee Club. "Miranda Rose," he called and a sheepish young girl walked out, her blond hair almost covering her face as if to hide from everyone.
"H-Hello, I'm Miranda Rose a-and I'll be s-singing 'Beautiful'." she stammered. The music began and she took a deep breath.
Everyday is so wonderful
Then suddenly
It's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain
I'm so ashamed
Miranda raised her head higher a bit, her hair no longer covering her face, gaining confidence and the Glee Club members sat up, obviously impressed by her voice.

She grabbed the microphone off the stand, the emotion in her voice was enough to make the Glee Club applaud and cheer.

Miranda looked over to Mr. Schue. "That was wonderful, Miranda, you're in," he said and Miranda smiled gratefully, thanking him and she ran out in excitement, bumping into Alexis on her way out. Alexis smiled, knowing she passed before standing confidently at the stage.
"Hi, I'm Alexis Sofa Jackson and I'll be singing 'If I Were A Boy' by Beyonce." she said happily. The Glee Club returned to their seats, looking beyond excited as the first few notes to 'If I Were A Boy' began. Alexis breathed in, collecting all her emotion for the song.

Even though no one noticed it, Alexis smiled sadly at the last line.

By the end of the song, the Glee Club was applauding madly, some were saying "bravo!" and Alexis quickly wiped away the tears in her eyes, sniffling before turning to Mr. Schue with a smile, trying to hide her tears. "So... do you accept me into the Glee Club, Mr. Schuester?" she asked hopefully.
Mr. Schuester couldn't help but smile, clapping his hands happily. "Wow, Alexis!" he exclaimed. "We'remore than happy to have you in the Glee Club; your voice is just amazing!" Alexis grinned happily, squealing "thank you" repeatedly before leaving the auditorium.

The Glee Club waited in excitement as they waited, anxious to know why Tina left the auditorium. Soon, they heard Tina's voice and they heard someone saying "thank you for helping me" and before they knew it, Tina was helping a boy walk to the middle of the stage. The Glee Club was shocked to see his eyes fogged, a cane in his arms, and he reached out gently to grab the mic.
"Thank you, Tina," he said.
"You're welcome, Jason," she said before joining the other Glee Club members.
"Hello, my name is Jason Kenson and I will be singing 'Show Me What I'm Looking For' by Carolina Liar." he said and Mr. Schue nodded. The music began to play and Jason began to sing.

As the music ended, the Glee Club applauded once again and Jason smiled happily, wishing he could see the looks on their faces. "You were wonderful, Jason!" Mr. Schue said. "We'll be happy to have you in the Glee Club."
Jason grinned and gave Mr. Schue a thumbs up before using his cane to find his way out. Unfortunately, while he was walking out, a very prideful Julianna stormed passed him and he almost fell over. The Glee Club silenced at the sight of Julianna. Blaine bit his lip nervously, remembering the incident over at the hallway, when she called him and Kurt 'fag'.
"Hello, my name is Julianna Sapphire Silver and I will be singing 'You Must Love Me' from Evita." she said proudly and before Mr. Schue could tell her to start, she began to play the first few notes to the piano and she began to sing.
Where do we go from here?'

When she finished, Julianna bowed to the crowd, not even caring that the members were all silent, and Mr. Schue's nod was enough to tell her that she was accepted. She left pridefully and the Glee Club members turned to Mr. Schue. "You can't accept her," Rory protested. "She's evil, Mr. Schuester! - she tripped me while I was take me books for class!"
"Yeah," Blaine added, "and she called me and Kurt 'fags'."
"I say we reject her," Artie said and the members agreed.
"Guys, maybe we can get her to like us, like we did we Quinn, Brittany and Santana last year-"
"The Unholy Trinity," Brittany corrected.
"- and she might be a big chance for us at Nationals," Mr. Schue finished. The members scowled, but they knew that they had to agree because they had to agree that her voice was good. "Daniel Hoods," Mr. Schue called, deciding to continue.
Daniel walked in, smiling and the girls squealed in excitement, obviously smitten by him. "Hello, my name is Daniel Hoods and I would love to join the Glee Club, so, I guess that's why I'm here right now. I'm going to sing 'Set Fire To The Rain' and I bet you guys know who sang it."

The girls jumped to their feet, squealing 'I love you's to him as if he was a famous singer but, frankly, they were all surprised that he wasn't a singer. He was so good at it as if he's been doing this for years. Mr. Schue was astonished by his singing voice.
"That was beyond epic, Daniel!" he exclaimed. "Welcome to the Glee Club!"
Daniel grinned happily, flashing a wink to the girls, who squealed in response, before walking out.

"Okay, guys, there's only one person left," Mr. Schue announced. "Jennifer Campbell."
Jennifer walked in, brushing her hair behind her ear and she moved to the piano. "Hello, my name is Jennifer 'Jenny' Campbell and I will be singing 'Love Song' by Sara Bareilles." she said. "I know it's kinda an oldie but I adore that song and let's just say.... it fits me."
Mr. Schue nodded. "Alright."
She sat down on the piano and cleared her throat, beginning the song.

Jennifer bit her lip, recalling her past memories as she sang the song. No, it happened so long ago, she assured herself. It won't happen again - no one will ever find out.

As the Glee Club applauded, Jennifer hung her head lowly. No, it won't happen again.

The six new members were excited to step into the choir room and of course, the other six members welcomed them with open arms, but Blaine seemed to stay away from Julianna, looking uneasy. The girls were, of course, swarming Daniel like he was a magnet - well, he was a girl magnet.
"Welcome to the choir room, guys," Mr. Schue said proudly. "These are the old members - Blaine, Artie, Tina, Rory, Sugar and Brittany - and guys, these are Miranda, Alexis, Jason, Julianna, Daniel and Jennifer. I hope you guys get along because we need all the teamwork we can get to win Nationals this year.
"Preach," the old members said.
"That's okay, because you have me," Julianna said. "I'm the best singer ever and I know that I can bring you guys to the championship - well, actually, I'll bring myself to the championship."
Miranda scowled. Who does she think she is?
Brittany raised her hand. "Mr. Schue, all of us are still sad about the others leaving this year - Blaine misses my precious unicorn, Artie misses his Quinn and the others, Tina misses Mike, Rory misses Finn, Sugar just misses people applauding to her and I miss Santana - so me and Tina want to perform a song to show how much we miss them but... we have to stay strong."
Mr. Schue nodded, gesturing the new members to sit down as the music began. Brittany began the first lines sadly.
Brittany:

The smell of your skin lingers on me now
You're probably on your flight back to your home town
Tina stepped in, pushing all her feelings into the songs, thinking about Mike, wishing he was there right now.
Tina:
'I need some shelter of my own protection baby
To be with myself and center, clarity

That this has nothing to do with you

We've got some straightenin' out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket

The Glee Club cheered as they sang, clapping their hands to the rhythm of the song.
Brittany:'

The Glee Club began standing on their seats and dancing around, except Julianna - who looked unimpressed - and Miranda - who was too shy to dance. Miranda wished she wasn't too embarrased to join them, because it looked like fun. Even Jason seemed to be a simple step dance.

"I love you, Santana," Brittany said proudly. "Even if you're not here anymore." The club cheered.
"And that was for Mike, too." Tina said as they moved to take their seats.
"Tina, Brittany, you just inspired our assignment for this week, which will be about how much we miss the old members," Mr. Schue said, scrawiling the words 'Memories' onto the whiteboard. "Maybe we can call the old members over to show them how much we miss them. We're calling them over two days from now so you guys better be ready for it."
Brittany lowered her head sadly. "Then I won't have anything to perform for Santana now..."
"Don't worry, Brittany - I recorded it on my phone." Miranda said meekly and Brittany ran to hug her, crushing her into a death grip.
"Thank you so much!" she said happily before running to take her seat again.
"I'll be singing to Kurt," Blaine said confidently, looking more than happy to do so.
The bell rang and the students began to leave. "Make sure you guys come up for an assignment!" Mr. Schue said.

Miranda sat alone in the cafeteria, sighing, thinking what she should sing for the assignment but the problem was that she didn't really know who the old members were, so she didnt know how they were like. She knew Santana Lopez and Quinn Fabray, however, but that was because they were Cheerios, not her friends.
"Hey, Glee girl!" a voice called and Miranda turned around and noticed a boy standing in front of her with a slushie. Oh no, not again! Lucklily, she closed her eyes before the cold slushie hit her face and at least, it wasn't so painful anymore. "Loser!"
Miranda scowled, scooping the slushie off her face and heard the bell ring. When everyone headed back to class, she was shocked to see the boy who slushied her grabbing her hand and walking to the bathroom. Miranda blushed, extremely nervous when around boys. "W-what are you doing?"
The boy entered the girls' bathroom and began taking tissues to wipe the slushie off her face. Instinctively, Miranda pulled back. "I'm trying to help you," the boy protested. Miranda pulled away again, intimidated by his bulky appearance - well, he was a jock. But that wasn't the only reason she was nervous - but it was because he looked so-
"I'm really sorry about that, Miranda," he sighed.
"W-wait, h-how d-did you know my name?" Miranda asked meekly, shivering as the jock continued to scoop what's left of the slushie of of her hair.
"Oh, Alexis told me," he said. "My name's Justin, by the way - Justin Greyson Kingston."
Justin happily offered his hand to shake and Miranda hesitantly shook it. "T-Thank you, Justin."
"No problem, Miranda." Justin said confidently. "But... can this be a little secret between you and me? - just the two of us?"
Miranda blushed at the words 'just the two of us', tucking her hair behind her ear. "O-Okay."
Justin flashed her a wink before walking out of the girls' bathroom, leaving her alone in the bathroom, her face completely red.

"Oh, so you met Justin?" Alexis asked Miranda. Miranda nodded, smiling slightly, her cheeks flushed. Alexis smirked cunningly.
"Oh, you have a crush on him, don't you?" she teased and Miranda's mouth dropped open, trying to protest but Alexis simply burst out laughing. "Oh, Miranda, don't deny it!"
Miranda groaned. "God, don't say it out loud..."
"And you just met him - aww, it was love at first sight, wasn't it?" Alexis squealed, her voice low enough so that only Miranda could hear her. Before Miranda could ask her to stop again, she overheard Justin talking about a girl and she managed to hear him sigh.
"I love her, but how do I tell her?" he said.
And by the look of Alexis's face, she could tell that she heard him too. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Miranda." she said but Miranda was storming off. That was probably the first time she has ever felt so heartbroken before.

Blaine was nearly jumping off his stool as he spotted Kurt walking into the choir room, looking confused when he got the phone call from him this morning. The old members of the Glee Club applauded but the new ones watched him with interest - except Julianna, who rolled her eyes, scoffing.
"Kurt, we're glad you can make it." Mr. Schue said. "The others were busy."
"Okay, what is this about?" Kurt asked quizzically and Blaine began to walk in front of him and he gently smiled at him.
"I missed you," he said softly and Kurt blushed. The entire Glee Club giggled. "This week's assignment is for us to sing to the members who left this year and, you know, I'm going to sing to you - I hope you like it." He picked up the guitar, sitting back on his stool, grabbing Kurt's hand so he was right in front of him.
To see you when I wake up is a gift

Miranda lowered her head sadly, watching Kurt and Blaine gazing lovingly into one another's eyes, wishing she could the same with Justin but she simply sighed, smiling as the song continued.

Alexis begins to help Miranda to win Justin over the other girl. Pancho begins to find more trouble amongst the Glee Club members and Kitty has to stop him from making a grave mistake. Jennifer's past comes back to haunt her and two other students begin to fall in love with one another.
