GLEE LIVE!!!
So I went to the 3 PM show at Nassau Coliseum and it was FANTASTIC. I think it may even be better than the concert from last year, which I saw at Radio City Music Hall.
First of all, Nassau Coliseum is like my second home. It's, of course, the home of the New York Islanders, who are like my LIFE. I got all excited every time we walked past a picture of Josh Bailey or Rick DiPietro. Everyone was probably really confused (because this is a Glee concert and no one cares or probably even knows who those people are.) But I don't care beacuse they're my boys and they're the best :P
I went with my Mom (she loves the show) and one of my friends who loves the show. Before the concert starts they had a little game of sorts up on the video screens. They would display a quote from the show and afterwards, show a picture of the character who said it. It was fun guessing who said what. I freaked every time it was a Finn or Sam quote. They even threw some really hard ones in!
The concert itself was INCREDIBLE. Everyone was so good. I liked the Warblers ALOT (I'm not obssessed with them like alot of people, but they are really good live.)
I spent the entirety of River Deep, Mountain High watching Cory attempt to dance. Sooo funny. He's adorable.
I LOVED in Fat Bottomed Girls when all of a sudden Lauren comes out and is just like "well get over here Puckerman!" And he starts making his way towards her while he's singing. Super cute. I love them!
In the Klaine skit (which was HYSTERICAL) my friend and I were going insane when we heard Kurt say "besides, I already have to compete with Rachel" and the first few beats of Don't Rain on My Parade went on! I was sooo upset when I found out they took the song out of the line up, but they put it back in for the last stop in North America I guess and it was BRILLIANT. Lea is such a fabulous singer. I couldn't have been more excited about the addition of Don't Rain on My Parade.
Amber didn't sing Ain't No Way, and while I love her voice, I wasn't overly upset over the loss of that song. I don't like it that much. They also didn't sing Friday, which was a bit more upsetting. But they did do the Single Ladies dance (which was awesome) so I can't complain too much.
I think Firework was my favorite preformance, just because I love the song, Lea's adorableness, and the fireworks that were exploding on stage. But I loved SING too, because that song is just great. I love My Chemical Romance, and the Glee version is just so good.
Empire State of Mind was also up there for my "favorites" list. They went all out becase, well, it's New York! Everyone was singing along to that one. We are proud, us New Yorkers!
As far as merch, I used saved up birthday money to buy the black girls' shirt, the Warblers shirt (it was too cool NOT to buy!), and the poster which is now hung right above the TV in my bedroom :3
All in all, a HUGELY successful day! I had so much fun, and I'll surely never forget it.
