it has come to my attention that some people can’t think of even one (!) time when finn has been a jerk to/hurt rachel. so i decided to make you a list for your future reference, neatly organized by season. also, i’ve cited the episodes.

season 1

• threw eggs at her (1.01)
• kissed her while still with quinn (1.02)
• “well, when i first joined, i thought you were kind of insane. i mean, you talk way more than you should…” (1.02)
• admitted that he looked under his bed to make sure rachel wasn’t there, to her face (1.02)
• “is this one of those chick things, where you’re pissed about one thing but you’re just pretending to be pissed about something else?” (1.03)
• asked rachel on a date right after his girlfriend told him she was pregnant, just to charm her back to the glee club (and get himself a scholarship) (1.05)
• “what about quinn?” “i don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future, ijust know i wanna spend more time with you.” (1.05)
• “she kind of freaks me out in a swim fan kind of way, but she can really sing, and her body is smoking, if you’re not a fan of boobs.” (1.06)
• finn chose football over glee club, even though the other boys didn’t, knowing how important it was to her (1.08)
• when rachel said, “people just don’t like me,” finn replied with, “you might wanna work on that.” (1.09)
• stared at her chest while talking to her (1.11)
• called her a “sad clown hooker” (1.11)
• ditched rachel for their glee club photo (1.12)
• “now that we’re dating, i have to work so much harder to pretend to be listening to her.” (1.14)
• dumped rachel to go out with brittany and santana (“connect with [his] inner rockstar before connecting with one woman”) (1.14)
• supported rachel breaking up with her boyfriend so they could get back together, in the same episode that he dumped her (1.14)
• “i even circled some dates on your crazy calendar.” (1.14)
• “you do talk too much, and usually you just talk about yourself, but at least i don’t feel alone when i’m with you.” (1.14)
• demanded to know about her relationship with jesse as though he had aright to know who she was dating (1.15)
• assumed that rachel would never have dated jesse if he’d been willing to date her still (1.15)
• acted like “run joey run” was all about him (1.17)
• told rachel she had things going for her other than her voice, and then couldn’t name one (1.18)
• “you think [jesse’s] gonna stick around if you can’t sing?” (1.18)
• sang “jessie’s girl” as soon as jesse stepped off screen (1.18)
• stared intently at rachel undressing behind the screen at the doctor’s office(1.18)
• “god, i’m so sick of you feeling sorry for yourself.” (1.18)
• used his paralyzed friend to teach rachel a lesson about being grateful (1.18) (arguably ruder to the paralyzed friend, but still dickish)

season 2

• called her “controlling and annoying” in their interview with jacob (2.01)
• said he wouldn’t break up with her “because [he wasn’t] the quarterback anymore” (2.01)
• laughed when santana insulted her (2.02)
• tried to control what rachel wore to school (2.02)
• “her boobs aren’t that great, but they’re still girl boobs and I’d really like to touch them.” (2.03)
• prayed to a grilled cheese sandwich to touch her boobs (2.03)
• revealed whilst talking to emma that he wasn’t really listening when rachel was talking to him about their future children and their religion (2.03)
• lied to rachel about sleeping with santana (2.08) (personally, i don’t thinkit’s her business, but it did hurt hurt)
• called rachel a prude (2.08)
• broke up with rachel for making out with puck, when finn kissed rachel multiple times while still with quinn (2.09)
• left rachel alone in the middle of a bunch of christmas trees when he was her ride home (2.10)
• told rachel and the other girls that they were absolutely not allowed to even try to help during the football game (2.11)
• told rachel that he felt absolutely nothing when he kissed her (2.12)
• led quinn to cheat on sam, despite breaking up with rachel for doing the same to him with puck (2.12)
• defended rachel’s idea of original songs only when they were alone (2.12)
• said “the reason [he] never got past second base” was because rachel had never had a drink before (2.14)
• called rachel “the needy girl drunk” (2.14)
• broke rachel’s nose (2.18)
• tried to tell rachel what to do with her own body (2.18)
• argued that rachel should not go to prom with jesse, even though they weren’t together anymore (2.20)
• after he criticized rachel’s choice of date, complained to her about quinn (2.20)
• snarked at jesse in front of rachel, totally ignoring rachel’s upset expression (2.20)
• started a fight with jesse in the middle of prom, when rachel looked happier than she had in a long time (2.20)
• rediscovered his feelings for her only after a funeral, breaking up with quinn by saying that he felt nothing when he was with her, only to protest with “i still love you!” when she gets upset

Can someone please enlighten me? How on EARTH can you love Finchel after reading this? And how on earth can you say you hate Jesse for doing one bad thing even when Finn has done a lot more? Ah the hypocricy of the glee fandom at it's finest...

This is why I don't think Finchel can ever work, and why I think that Rachel is a spineless lovesick little girl.
